It is most important to respect sampling and preparation especially for this analysis, as it can have a big effect on the result if not respected.
Collect on an empty stomach (> 12h fasting), in 3 pre-warmed (37 °C) tubes without gel separation (in order to obtain a final 4 to 5 mL serum after all the steps of preparation have been performed), allow to clot at 37 °C (2 h minimum, and up to 24h maximum), centrifuge at 37 °C (15 min, 3500 rpm équivalent to 2200g), allow to settle and store the serum at 4 °C. Note the mention "Cryoglobulin" on the treated serum tube and send it in refrigerated.
Screening takes up to 10 days, because some cryoglobulins are longer than others to turn positive.
If positive screening, the deadline for rendering is extended (by about 4 days) because a characterisation by immunofixation is systematically performed and invoiced (code 27509).
