Covid-19, flu, hepatitis, HIV, tuberculosis, HPV…

Cerba offers nearly 300 tests in infectiology, to support diagnosis, identify the pathogen, or assess the response to treatment. Our activity covers all areas of infectiology (virology, bacteriology, mycology, etc.), with highly innovative tests (HIV sequencing using NGS technique for example) but also expertise retained on older reference techniques (such as yellow fever seroneutralization).

Pandemic Response Capability: 3 P3 laboratories

We have P3 laboratories with a level of containment that enables analyses to be carried out on highly infectious pathogens (currently used for Mycobacterium tuberculosis, responsible for tuberculosis). We also have a 1,500m2 reserve area that can be mobilized in the event of a pandemic.

Expertise inherited from Institut Pasteur

Infectiology represents the historical expertise of our laboratory, inherited from the 1998 merger with the Institut Pasteur's specialized clinical laboratory unit. Our expertise is based on a team of five specialized medical biologists, in constant liaison with the National Reference Centers (CNR) and learned societies, and three technical units (serology, molecular biology and microbiology) supervised by technical unit managers and expert technicians.

Driving Innovation in Infectious Disease Research.

We have a strong capacity for innovation in infectiology, particularly further to the acquisition of NGS technology and our sequencer platform, which enables us to analyze pathogens in great detail. This technology requires a very high level of technical and medical expertise in order to be able to interpret complex results. Thanks to this dual expertise, we work daily to improve patient care and develop new tests based on this technology.

We are now offering two new analyses: Studies of vaginal and endometrial microbiomes using high-throughput sequencing technology targeting 16S rDNA.

Tailored and accessible guidance for clinicians

Our infectiology activity is based on three technical units (serology, microbiology and molecular biology) and five specialized biologists, including an expert in virology and an expert in bacteriology. They are at your service to respond to requests in France and abroad, and support clinicians in their choice of tests and interpretation of results, particularly for pregnant women.

A referenced clinical pathology laboratory

Proving its level of excellence, Cerba is recognized as an LBMR (Reference Clinical Pathology Laboratory) at a national level in microbiology for infections by Helicobacter pylori.
