Lupus anticoagulant (LA) represents a heterogeneous population of antibodies found in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), embodying a paradox that remains enigmatic.
This class of antiphospholipid antibodies causes phospholipid-dependent prolongation of coagulation time but is associated with an increased risk of thrombosis and pregnancy-related complications.
On October 17th, we explored the different antibodies associated with LA activity, their interpretation, and their role in the diagnosis of APS.
