Universal 16S rRNA PCR for Diagnostic in Bacteriology
By Dr. Camille d'Humières
In bacteriology diagnosis, traditional culture of samples is not always sufficient to identify the pathogen responsible for the infection.
In several cases, such as antibiotic use or non/cultivable pathogens, the culture may fail. In these situations, it is possible to use molecular biology techniques to search for bacterial DNA and identify the pathogen involved in the disease.
This webinar will provide an overview of the different sequencing approaches and techniques available: targeted metagenomics (16S rRNA), shotgun sequencing, Sanger sequencing, or NGS?
You will master the advantages and limitations of each approach to optimize prescription (or aid in prescription).
