On hydrochloric acid (pH2), Urine acidification can be carried out within 24 hours after collection if stored at refrigerated temperature. Earlier acidification guarantees greater stability.
24-hour urine for adults and overnight urine for children under 15.
In the 48 hours preceding the sample, avoid foods that may overestimate the values (bananas, chocolate, vanilla, coffee) or certain medications (antihypertensives, antidepressants, etc.).
Note that the consumption of alcohol, amphetamines and certain psychoactive treatments can cause an increase in urinary catecholamine levels.
