PCR DNA testing - Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma genitalium and Trichomonas vaginalis.
Dear colleague,
As of July 3, 2023, PCR testing for Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, as well as Mycoplasma genitalium and Trichomonas vaginalis, will be performed on the Panther automated system using Hologic reagents.
This change entails a modification of the transport media we supply.
The new kits to be used and ordered from MyCerba are as follows (please disregard the references previously sent)
Aptima urine sample collection kit - NEW My Cerba REFERENCE: 6794 (Instructions 1)
Aptima™ unisex swab specimen collection kit for endocervical and urethral swab specimens - NEW MyCerba REFERENCE: 6795 (Instructions 2)
These kits must be sent to us from July 03, 2023, the date of the change of technique.
From August 4, 2023, samples taken on Roche transport media will be refused. Results cannot be returned.
Special cases :
For combined HPV + Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae tests: a single PreservCyt sample must be taken.
